How do you dry carpet after a pipe break?

The homeowners called SERVPRO of Layton / Kaysville after their home had been flooded. Once we extracted all the water the questions was asked "Why do we have to add fans and stuff?" The answer is: Secondary Damage.

Secondary damage is the reason for needing drying equipment. Mold growth is considered secondary damage and will grow if not taken care of from the beginning. The evaporation process of water is too slow which will give mold enough time to grow.

Adding air movement and dehumidification quickens the evaporation of bound water. Without the water the mold will not be able to grow assuring that there is no secondary damage.
